How to sew a chuni pattern step by step instructions

Preparatory stage

So, if you become the owner of an old sheepskin coat and a little free time, you can sew homemade chuni from it, and there will be enough material for the whole family.
Sheepskin is an excellent material for indoor shoes. On cold winter evenings, your feet will not freeze, but they will not sweat either and, accordingly, there will be no unpleasant odor. It is best to choose sheepskin sleeves for sewing house shoes. There is the least amount of fittings and other finishing materials, and the structure of the sleeve will greatly facilitate the construction of the pattern. Before you start creating a pattern, you need to cut off the sleeves from a whole sheepskin coat and measure the length of the foot, as well as the width of the ankle.

Materials and tools necessary for work

In order to make homemade chuni you will need: a sheepskin coat, a sheet of paper, a pencil, a blade, a large needle and strong silk threads in the color of the sheepskin coat.

Important! When cutting, use a blade, not scissors. The blade will give more precise cutting and smooth lines, the cut will be even and the fur will not fray.

Chun pattern from a sheepskin coat

There are many options on the Internet for different construction of homemade chun patterns from old sheepskin coats. We bring to your attention the simplest one. First you need to build a base - an insole. Be sure to make two parts for the right and left legs. You can simply outline the foot with a pencil, but you need to check the foot length measurements. Next, we move on to building the side parts, there will be 4 parts. Draw a straight line on paper that matches your foot length. From one edge rise 4 cm - this will be a sock. From the other edge, rise 8 cm - this will be the height of the heel. From the highest point, set aside the width of your ankle divided by 2 and draw a straight line. Connect the resulting part with the toe of the product with a smooth line. It is also necessary to build the upper part of the chun. To do this, simply build a rectangle with sides 5.5 cm and 25 cm.

Felt slippers

For this model you will need to cut out only 4 parts - 2 soles and 2 tops. You can make a pattern with your own hands - trace the foot on cardboard and cut it out. The second step is to place your foot on the resulting part, place a sheet of thick paper on top of the foot, pin together the places where they touch with pins, and cut off the excess.

You can use ready-made solutions.

From felt we cut out the details of future slippers, taking into account seam allowances. It is better to sew the material by hand using a buttonhole stitch. The density does not matter, since the felt holds its shape well, the seam can withstand serious loads, of course, provided that strong threads were used.

Felt slippers can be decorated with appliqué or you can choose a material with a pattern or ornament for their top. Threads are often used as decoration, with which the parts are sewn together - thick, in a contrasting color. It is better to reinforce the sole with denser and thicker felt or a cork sheet thicker than 3 mm.

How can you sew slippers?

Everything is very simple, the main thing is to understand a few points:

Sneaker pattern

  1. Materials needed for sewing shoes.
  2. Take correct measurements and think about the future type of shoes.

Outlining the details

If you immediately think through these few points in detail, then you can sew wonderful slippers for the house.

The simplest slippers consist of three main components:

Making UGG boots

What can you make from an old sheepskin coat, besides slippers and a vest? Of course, UGG boots. If you have already sewed slippers from an old sheepskin coat, then you will not have any problems with sewing UGG boots. Winter is coming soon and your feet should be warm so that you don’t get sick at this time. What could be better than beautiful UGG boots? How to make them if you have an old sheepskin coat at home that no one needs?

So, you have already understood what to make from an old sheepskin coat, now you need to figure out how to do it. Ugg boots are loved by men and women, because they are very convenient, comfortable and warm shoes. Now you will sew them for yourself.

To begin, you will need to prepare the following products:

  • An old sheepskin coat or just sheepskin, drape or felt.
  • Strong threads that are difficult to break.
  • Outer fabric for covering the product.
  • Decorative elements.

If you are sewing shoes to wear outside, then you will also need a sole and a pattern for it.

The pattern of the product is simple to construct; you will need paper from which the pattern will be made. Always remember to allow a slight allowance to ensure the item fits you perfectly.

After the pattern has been created, it should be transferred to the fabric, for us it is an old sheepskin coat. Has everything been transferred to the material? Start cutting, and then start stitching the parts.

Once your UGGs are almost finished, you can decorate them as you wish (with bright threads, ribbons, decorative elements, etc.). Don't forget to use your imagination and your UGG boots will be irresistible.

As you can see, an old sheepskin coat can come in handy in the future. Therefore, do not rush to throw it away. From it you can sew a lot of warm and necessary things for the winter. Believe me, you will never regret that you kept your old sheepskin coat instead of throwing it away. You can sew not only ugg boots, slippers or a vest for yourself. Look online for other interesting ideas from an old sheepskin coat, get inspired and create at your own discretion. Always show your imagination, develop your creative impulses, because it is so important to sometimes relax in this hectic world.
