Useful tips on how to iron a leatherette jacket at home

Ironing faux leather clothes

The iron remains a universal tool in the fight for a neat appearance. It is important to select the correct unit temperature before use and turn off the steaming mode before ironing the eco-leather. The rest of the dermantine leveling process is as follows (step by step):

  1. Turn the faux leather product inside out.
  2. Straighten all folds and creases as much as possible with your hands.
  3. Take a dry and clean cotton cloth and place it on the prepared product.
  4. Iron the desired area, being careful not to go beyond the intervening fabric.
  5. Fill all bulky parts tightly with soft towels while the item is warm.
  6. Hang it on a hanger and leave it in this position until it cools completely.

These recommendations are only suitable for items that are not lined. For outerwear, the operating algorithm looks slightly different.

How can you remove wrinkles from a jacket or skirt after purchase?

Such things, however, like clothes made from ordinary fabrics, are stored in large bales in warehouses. Therefore, skirts or jackets with creases often appear on store shelves, especially if the goods did not have time to sag after acceptance. Do not be upset if the chosen model turns out to have such minor defects - fabric-based polyurethane materials can be easily brought into a neat appearance in a simple way - by heating with a regular hairdryer:

  1. You need to hang clothes on hangers or lay them out on a flat surface.
  2. Turn on the unit at maximum power and direct a stream of hot air to the problem area.
  3. Naturally, smooth out the folds with your hands as soon as they have cooled a little.
  4. You can use ordinary clothespins as gentle weights for hanging items, distributing them along the very edge of the skirt.

If you need to remove creases from a biker jacket, you will have to put the wearer’s outerwear on after using a hairdryer and not take it off until the item has cooled completely. Or stuff it tightly with terry towels, giving it the desired shape, and only then use the machine for leveling.

Important! You should work with hot air at a distance of 15–20 cm from the surface of the eco-leather product so that it does not wrinkle or melt.

Steam ironing

Smoothing eco-leather with an iron is not always a safe activity and does not always give a good result. An alternative is to use steam.

To do this you can submit an application:

steam generator Steamer An iron with a steam function that allows vertical processing. First, you need to test the steam sensitivity of the shirt material from the inside. Steam should not reach the jacket from close range.

When the product is put on a mannequin, it is convenient to vaporize. Otherwise, you can use a tripod and place rolls of towels in the sleeves. The distance from which steam can escape is approximately 15-20 cm.

Severely wrinkled areas can be treated for up to 10 seconds. If you want to repeat the effect, you need to wait until the eco-leather cools down.

Is it possible to use an iron to smooth eco-leather?

For those things that have few parts and a lot of flat elements, such as car covers or skirts, a home appliance is ideal. You just need to choose the right heating temperature for the device and prepare an ironing iron - a piece of white cotton fabric.

Important! Only white or unbleached fabric can be used as an intermediate element. Especially if the dermantine item is light-colored, multi-colored ironing irons can leave a mark on the item and it will be impossible to remove it later.

How to properly use an iron to smooth leatherette

Be sure to clean or wash the dermantine product before starting work. Any remaining dirt or dust heated by the unit is “soldered” into the material, and eco-leather does not tolerate stain removers and other aggressive agents from the arsenal of household chemicals.

Important! Use a flat, plain fabric without appliqués or other finishing elements as a backing. Faux leather, especially thin leather, becomes loose when exposed to heat and all three-dimensional patterns on the backing will leave a mark on the surface being ironed.

The step-by-step, correct process for processing an eco-leather product is as follows:

  1. Spread the item on a flat surface with the wrong side up, using your hands to smooth out all areas as much as possible.
  2. Turn on the iron to the “Synthetic” mode without filling the steamer container with water.

  3. Test the reaction of the material to heat through the fabric or lining in the most inconspicuous area.
  4. Treat the product according to its purpose - jackets or car seat covers need to be ironed according to different scenarios.
  5. Place a piece of clothing or accessory on a hanger and let it hang. If you ironed car or furniture covers, stretch them warm over the seats.

When using an iron to iron clothes or accessories made of leatherette, you need to work carefully, trying not to go beyond the ironing iron and not leaving the unit in one place for a long time.

How to iron?

If the material allows the use of an iron, and there is information about this on the tag, and the folds are very deep, it is worth using this option. It is more efficient and faster.

But its use requires care and caution. As already mentioned, the temperature of the iron should be minimal (30-40 degrees) .

Before you start ironing large parts of the product, you need to test ironing on an inconspicuous area of the underside of the sleeve or back.

If, as a result of such a test, the material retains its original color and texture, and there are no melted or scorched spots left on it, you can begin ironing the entire jacket.

Before you start ironing your sleeves, you need to put a towel or piece of fabric inside . This is necessary so that during the heat treatment the leatherette parts do not come into contact. Otherwise, they may be soldered together and the product will be damaged.

The iron should not be held in one place of the jacket. They need to be continuously moved over the surface of the product, without pressure, ensuring minimal impact from the iron.

The smoothed jacket should be hung on hangers, with bulky towels placed in the sleeves so that new folds do not form as the leatherette cools.

After ironing, the item should cool in natural conditions and at a uniform temperature . At this time, it should not be exposed to direct sunlight or be near a heating device.

Ironing leatherette with damp steam at home

You can steam a jacket or trousers made of eco-leather using a special device for vertical processing of textiles. Most often, this device is used by traders at clothing markets, putting clothes in order after unpacking. If you have such a unit in your home arsenal, that’s great, but if your budget doesn’t allow you to spend money on additional household devices, it doesn’t matter. You can use a regular iron with a steam function as a vertical steam generator.

The algorithm for processing a polyurethane product with wet steam consists of the following step-by-step manipulations:

  1. Before ironing eco-leather using a steam generator, you should place the item on a hanger or a special mannequin and use your hands to align the parts to the maximum: fasten the buttons and zippers, unscrew the collar and cuffs, straighten the internal pockets.

  2. Pour distilled water into the steamer container and turn on the desired mode.
  3. If the work is carried out with an iron, bring the unit to vertical mode after reaching high temperature.
  4. At a distance of 10–15 cm, “walk” through problem areas, pressing the steam release button and aiming it at your outerwear.
  5. Allow the jacket or skirt to cool and dry completely, preferably with a little weight on the bottom of the product.

Important! Before use, you need to check the condition of the iron or steam generator. When using home appliances for ironing, scale of solid particles often forms at the bottom of the container. When steam is released from the units, pieces of this plaque can fly out and “tightly” stick to things.

By the way, eco-leather is a very elastic material, so if the jacket has become small in the chest or waist, you can put on something still warm and walk around in it until it cools down completely. This will help increase the volume of outerwear by ten centimeters.

Items made from such material must be stored correctly. Then they will last longer and cracks will not appear on them. And it will be much easier to iron the thing. You need to follow some rules that apply to any leather items, including skirts:

  1. You cannot put an item in your wardrobe by folding it too much. This will cause folds to appear on the material. When folded for a long time, cracks and creases form.
  2. The leather must be stored in a special case, which is made of breathable materials. Leather is not stored in polyethylene.
  3. The skirt can be hung in the closet on a hanger. But they don’t hang anything on top of it, so as not to leave wrinkled stripes on the material.
  4. The storage room must maintain a certain humidity level. The skin can easily tolerate temperatures of 20 degrees, but the humidity should be no more than 60%.

You can smooth a leather skirt at home using a steam generator, but you need to act very carefully. This ironing method is not suitable for very soft leather. But in the case of skirts made of synthetic leather, this method is ideal. Proceed as follows:

  1. The item is hung on hangers or placed on an ironing board.
  2. They begin to bring a steam generator to the material (can be replaced with an iron with a similar function), release steam, maintaining a distance of fifteen centimeters.
  3. Then the item is left for fifteen minutes so that it has time to cool. Then they don’t put on clothes for another day, as they need to dry out from exposure to wet steam.

The steam method smoothes leather and pleated items well. It is suitable for products that have a large number of various decorative elements, for example, pockets, belts and rivets. It is very difficult to deal with such places using a regular iron.

You also need to be very careful with the iron. It can damage leather products; this electrical appliance must be used correctly, as there is a high risk of damaging clothes

The skirt is turned inside out and straightened on the ironing board. A prerequisite is to place some dense material under the clothes, for example, wrapping paper or parchment (the latter is more preferable). Do not turn on high temperature and steam. Use only the minimum temperature

Iron very carefully. Skin is a sensitive material; you should not linger on the device for a long time on any area.

The iron should always be in motion. After the procedure, the skirt is left straightened until it cools completely, so that new folds and creases do not form.

Water and Vaseline

There are two interesting ways to iron a leather item. In the first case, use ordinary water. To do this, hang the skirt on hangers and pour a little warm water into a spray bottle. Then the water is sprayed onto the entire thing, and not just on the existing folds.

The second way is to use oily substances. This option is relevant for natural and very thin fabric. Regular Vaseline is often used, proceeding as follows:

  1. Take a little Vaseline and apply it to the folds using a soft brush or hand.
  2. Wait for the wrinkles to smooth out. Vaseline penetrates into all holes, making the structure of the material smoother and more even.
  3. Remove any remaining product with a napkin.

How to apply the weight

If you don’t want to take risks using a steam generator or a regular iron, then you can use a weight. You just need to find something suitable in size. A press or several large books can serve as cargo.

Then it’s enough just to straighten the skirt on a flat surface and lay a thin fabric on top. This is to prevent the press or books from sticking to the sensitive material and staining it. Then the selected load is placed on top. Leave it in this form overnight.

On sale you can find special moisturizers for leather items. They are usually sold in large clothing stores. Available in the form of convenient sprays. They contain substances that can protect clothing from environmental influences. They are very easy to use:

  1. Use your hands to smooth out all the creases and folds on the leather product.
  2. Begin to spray the humidifier onto the material, maintaining a distance of twenty centimeters (or as much as indicated on the bottle with the product).
  3. Then they begin to rub the spray into the surface of the material with a soft cloth until it is completely absorbed.
  4. After this, the skirt is hung in the wardrobe.

You can’t just spray the product and leave it until it dries naturally - this can cause streaks to form on the skin.

After taking the item out, simply hang it on a hanger. Give her the opportunity to deal with it on her own, without your help.

If within a few days the folds and creases on the leatherette jacket have not gone away, then you should move on to more drastic measures - applying temperature or hot steam.

Ironing

Using this method, the main condition will be maintaining the temperature (not higher than 30 degrees), turning off the steam function on the iron, minimal pressure on the device and ironing the item turned inside out.

You should also understand that if done incorrectly, the jacket can be irreparably damaged. Actions must be clear, accurate and step-by-step:

  • Set the iron to delicate ironing mode and turn off the steam function. To avoid deformation of the leather under the influence of heat, check the correct temperature using the tip of the iron sole, on the wrong side of the item, where it is not visible.
  • Turn the jacket with the lining facing up. First, smooth out any visible unevenness with your hands.
  • Place a piece of smooth cotton fabric over the areas where the leatherettes come into contact, as sticking may occur under the influence of temperature. Be sure to do this when the lining material is thin or missing.
  • Turn it back inside out.

Hang on a hanger, adding volume using filler from disposable bags or strands of towels. Another option is to put an ironed jacket on yourself and walk in it for about an hour so that it remembers the contours of your body.

Steaming

A more gentle and safe way. In order for everything to work out well, you need to do the following:

  1. Find soft hangers that fit the size, roll up rolls of terry towels and insert them into the sleeves.
  2. For the process, take a steamer or iron (set the vertical steaming mode).
  3. We process small areas, at a distance of 10-15 cm from the item.
  4. We act for 5-10 seconds on those places where there are irregularities.
  5. Leave it alone for 30 minutes.

If you are afraid to use an iron and do not have a steamer, take a hair dryer to help.

Additionally, for the procedure, prepare a wet handkerchief or piece of fabric, a blanket.

  • Roll up the blanket and put it in your jacket.
  • Cover the place where hot air comes out of the hair dryer with a piece of cloth.
  • Turn on high mode. Blow the jacket at a distance of 20 cm.
  • Leave the item to cool.
  • Try again if not all areas are smoothed out.

Eco-leather is a modern material that, in terms of external parameters, is indistinguishable to the naked eye from genuine leather. In addition, eco-leather acquired such a name for a reason. The manufacturing process meets all the requirements of animal and environmental activists. The material is produced using polyurethane.

Clothes made from this fabric are very popular among lovers of leather goods. Jackets, skirts, dresses and much more. However, the methods of caring for clothing made from this material are somewhat different from the methods of caring for products made from genuine leather.

A common problem can be bruises, which occur on things made from eco-leather more often than on things made from genuine leather. They are formed due to the structure of the material itself and due to improper storage. Such various creases and bruises can be corrected with proper ironing. In this case, there will be no need for dry cleaning or special methods that require special physical and material costs.

An iron is a universal tool in the fight against all kinds of wrinkles in clothes. Whether it's a shirt or a leather jacket, ironing, when used correctly, can give a pristine look to any item in your wardrobe. You can iron eco-leather products, but you need to be careful not to damage the item.

An important factor when ironing clothes and products made from this material is compliance with all its features. However, if you do not forget about these features, ironing clothes will not bring any difficulties. The process is not much different from ironing other types of fabrics.

Eco-leather is a synthetic material and is produced under thermal influence. Therefore, high temperatures can have an extremely negative impact on the fabric. You need to be careful about setting the temperature of the iron and turning off the steam mode. The operating temperature range for ironing should not exceed 40 degrees Celsius.

Perhaps the most important aspect is ironing eco-leather items from the reverse side. The material consists of several synthetic layers, the top of which is not highly resistant to temperatures. Therefore, the smoothing process is carried out from the wrong side.

Important! You also need to do a test on the wrong side. By running an iron over it, you need to make sure that the fabric is not deformed. Only if everything is in order can you continue ironing.

To further protect the fabric, additional measures can be taken. On the reverse side, ironing should be done through a layer of double chintz fabric. Thus, you will certainly protect the eco-leather from deformation and excessive heat.

As has been said many times above, high temperatures are dangerous for eco-leather products. Therefore, after the smoothing process, you need to turn the item right side out, manually smooth out all the irregularities and leave it for a while to allow the item to cool. It is advisable to add the necessary volume so that the fabric remembers it and no longer wrinkles.

Since the process of smoothing with an iron is not always effective and safe, there are other ways to smooth out creases in this material.

Warm water

The structural features of the fabric allow you to perform many manipulations with it, which lead to leveling the surface of the material.

Is it possible to do without an iron and steamer?

Of course it is possible, but such work requires more time. Initially, you should spread things out on a flat surface or hang them on hangers, moistening them with distilled water from a spray bottle. This method is only suitable if the creases are fresh and the items have been washed gently. As soon as the products dry, the wrinkles will straighten out under their own weight.

If there are persistent deformations, for example, under the knees of trousers, you will have to use hot steam in the bathroom.

How to choose the right iron for home use

Important! This method is only suitable if there are no notes on the label regarding the water-repellent qualities of the material. If artificial leather is treated with water-repellent substances, hot and cold water will be of no use.

The procedure for smoothing a leather jacket at home made of leatherette without special equipment:

  1. It is necessary to hang the product on sized hangers above the bathtub.
  2. Close windows and doors as tightly as possible in the room.
  3. Turn on the hot water tap; there should be enough liquid so that the jacket is suspended in a cloud of steam.
  4. Leave the entire composition until the creases are straightened; you can “give it a go” from time to time by adjusting the volume of hot liquid in the bath.
  5. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe off condensation from the surface of outerwear.
  6. Send the jacket to dry on the balcony out of direct sunlight.

Important! It is better to work with a dampened item in fabric gloves so as not to leave marks on the surface of clothes made of wet eco-leather.

To prevent the sleeves of the jacket from wrinkling under their own weight during the drying process, you should roll up a terry towel and tightly stuff the bulky areas of the product with it.

Does it make a difference what to iron: leather or leatherette?

Your favorite leather dress is wrinkled and you are looking for a way to smooth out eco-leather? Creases and bruises are very often created on clothes made of artificial leather, and in order to give the product its original appearance and eliminate bruises, special knowledge and experience of other people are required. The first thing that comes to mind is to iron a dress or jacket or eco-leather tunic. Let's find out whether it is possible to iron eco-leather.

In most cases, a jacket, trousers, dress, or tunic made of leatherette can be ironed with an iron. It's as simple as cleaning eco-leather from stains and dirt. And in order not to spoil the thing, you need to know and follow a number of rules.

  • Before the procedure, conduct an experiment. This is a kind of testing of eco-leather for interaction with an iron. Usually, the manufacturer sews a small piece of artificial leather onto each leatherette product. Take it and try to iron it with an iron. To begin, select the gentle mode. Don't have a piece of material for an experiment? Try stroking the part of the skin that is on the underside of the garment.
  • Before ironing an eco-leather jacket at home, carry out the following manipulation: turn it inside out, roll two towels and put them in the sleeves of the jacket. This is necessary in order to protect the leatherette from gluing.
  • We iron jackets, dresses, and trousers made of eco-leather only from the wrong side. If the lining is thin, then take an additional piece of thin fabric. Gauze will not work, its fibers are too coarse, they can be imprinted on the surface of the artificial leather.
  • Before you start ironing eco-leather, turn off the steam generation function of the device. The recommended mode is gentle, as for safely ironing silk, and if you have a degree scale, then 30 degrees. Does your iron have dots instead of temperature? Choose the very first position with one or two marks.
  • If you need to iron not the entire jacket, but only some wrinkled fragment, then you don’t have to turn the product inside out. But you will need chintz fabric folded in half. Place the product on an ironing board, cover the wrinkled area with material on top, then gently smooth out any unevenness with light movements. Your movements should be intermittent. Check the condition of your eco-leather from time to time.
  • Sometimes it is enough to heat the material a little and leave it on the ironing board in a straightened state. As it cools, the wrinkle or crease will disappear.
  • If you iron a jacket or trousers on the wrong side, then after all the manipulations you will turn the clothes right side out. To better smooth out the material, it is necessary to add volume to the product. A pillow will help you with this; put it inside the jacket and a towel on the sleeves. Hang this whole funny design on a hanger.

Attention! Some types of eco-leather and artificial leather cannot be ironed! Look for the label on the product; it contains information about how to care for your leatherette product.

Are you afraid to iron leatherette? There is another way to remove creases and wrinkles on a leatherette jacket or dress. For this you will need a steam generator. Using a household steamer, ironing a leatherette jacket at home will be easy and simple.

To begin with, to check the reaction of the leatherette to hot steam, treat a small area from the inside or a piece of eco-leather that is applied to the product along with the label.

It is best to iron clothes using a steamer if you create volume.

It’s also easy to iron eco-leather trousers: put a folded large towel or small blanket in each pant leg, or you can use a long pillow.

We treat creases and wrinkled places with steam for a short time, just a few seconds. Keep your distance. Keep the steamer at a distance of 10 cm from the product. Do not touch the eco-leather with your hands - stains will remain.

You can use the item for its intended purpose only after 30-40 minutes, when the artificial leather has cooled down and is not deformed.

There are several unusual ways to remove creases and bruises from artificial leather. You can use them if you don’t have an iron or steamer at hand. This happened to me. On a business trip in a foreign city, I couldn’t find an iron, but I urgently needed to iron my eco-leather dress. A hairdryer came to my rescue.

Hang the dress on a hanger, put a folded blanket inside it (you'll have to hold it with one hand so it doesn't fall out), or simply lay the item on the bed. Turn on the hairdryer to the hottest stream of air. Cover the nozzle with a damp handkerchief.

Direct a stream of warm and moist air onto the wrinkled area. The distance to the clothing should be 20 cm, and if the hairdryer is powerful, then the entire 30 cm. Heat the wrinkled leatherette product with a hairdryer and leave to cool. If there are still creases, repeat the procedure.

The second method is simpler. The main thing is to create conditions for clothes made from eco-leather to straighten out on their own. Plain water will help speed up the process. How to iron a leatherette jacket or skirt at home without an iron and steamer? Catch the recipe!

  • Put the kettle on. Heat the water and mix it from cold to warm. The temperature should be 30-35 degrees. Pour water into a spray bottle. For this purpose, you can use a special garden device for spraying flowers.
  • Turn the product inside out and hang it on a hanger. A hanger with round hangers is best suited for this purpose. And if you iron a skirt or trousers, then use clothespins. Attach them to your belt strictly vertically, do not forget to turn them out.
  • Spray the lining with water from a spray bottle. Make sure that the material is moistened evenly. There is no need to wet it too much.
  • Leave your eco-leather dress, trousers or skirt to dry in the room away from heating appliances. After 12 hours, your clothes will look as if they have been ironed.

You can simplify the task of smoothing leatherette things further: pour hot water into the bath. Hang your clothes flat on a hanger above the bathtub. Close the room. After 2-3 hours, take the straightened items and dry them in a well-ventilated room.

These are not all the ways to iron a jacket, skirt, trousers or dress made of leatherette and eco-leather; in my opinion, they are more related to care products for clothes made of artificial and natural leather.

Leather jackets, or in popular abbreviation “kozhanki”, have long ceased to be an attribute of rocker and biker themes. Couturiers successfully brought leather jackets to the fashion catwalk. Since then, this outerwear has been present in every person’s wardrobe. But sometimes it is difficult to ensure that the appearance of a leather product is at its best.

It’s sad, but leather tends to wrinkle, especially when it’s packed in a closet for the winter. But by the time spring arrives, it needs to be put in order in order to look 100% next season.

You can smooth out products made of genuine leather and leatherette at home; there are many ways, but which ones are effective?

A leather jacket is usually called a thing made from natural material, leatherette, or eco-leather. Let's see how to properly iron these materials, and whether they can be ironed at all.

Leather items

Durable but at the same time delicate material. In some circumstances, it is enough to hang the jacket on a hanger, out of direct sunlight. The material will straighten out in a few days. However, this is not the only option for smoothing out a slightly wrinkled leather product. Wiping with a damp sponge is no less effective.

If the clothes are made of high-quality material, they will certainly smooth out. Owners of rough leather jackets will have to put in more effort. Experts say that you can iron your skin with an iron, but it is better to try to avoid high temperatures. It does not always have a positive effect on the quality of the product.

Dry ironing and steam ironing are used for leather.

Leatherette and eco-leather

Both of these materials are artificial substitutes for natural leather.

According to the creators, eco-leather is significantly different from leather substitutes. This is a unique high-tech material, “breathable” artificial leather that does not contain PVC. The basis for eco-leather is cotton fabric, which makes up 75–80% of the total mass.

Now there is also eco-leather made from a polyester or mixed base. The remaining 20–25% is a polyurethane film, and not PVC, which is typical for leatherette. Unlike the latter, eco-leather is more elastic and has increased wear resistance.

What about ironing or steaming if the jacket has been lying on a shelf in the closet for several months? We can say with confidence that both eco-leather and artificial leather can be ironed and steamed in various ways. But following certain rules.

It has already been said that a leather product needs to hang flat on a hanger for 2-3 days. In this case, it is necessary to fasten all zippers and fasteners to give shape to the clothing.

But this method works if the skin is thin. What if you need to deal with folds and kinks in rough skin? I wouldn’t like to use an iron, but I have to.

First, you need to straighten the wrinkled skin with your hands on the board, and then proceed to any of the following methods.

Dry ironing

The temperature regulator of the iron needs to be set to minimum mode, because the skin does not like high temperatures.

Do not iron the leather at high temperatures to prevent the product from deteriorating.

It is important to remember that at high temperatures, natural leather can get thermal burns.

The fabric must be smooth so as not to leave marks on the skin. It is also important to remember that you cannot move on to ironing another section of clothing until the first one has cooled down. Why is this being done? As soon as the uncooled skin moves and wrinkles, new creases form.

How to iron a leatherette jacket using folk methods at home

There are some things that cannot be tidied up with an iron or steamer. For example, if faux fur is used as a lining. In this case, you can correct the situation using one of the traditional methods, leveling products made of delicate material:

  1. You need to mix fabric softener, table vinegar and distilled water in equal proportions. Apply the mixture to problem areas with a sponge or spray bottle, allow to dry, spreading the product on a flat surface.

  2. Soak a sponge or lint-free cloth with glycerin, wait a little and smooth out the creases with your hands.
  3. Lubricate an inconspicuous area on the back of a leatherette item with rich cream. If the material does not change color, apply the product to the crumpled sleeve or collar and let it absorb. Smooth the area with your hands and remove any excess product with a dry cloth.
  4. Eco-leather reacts well to unrefined vegetable oils. It is necessary to lubricate the desired area with olive, corn or sunflower product, let it absorb and smooth the surface with your hands. The remainder of the substance must be removed with a paper towel.

Suitable for caring for products made from artificial materials and natural leather care products. You just need to be careful - most of them are made from refined gasoline, so they are flammable and have a characteristic odor.

Preventing wrinkles

The following rules for storing and caring for such items will help increase the shelf life of any eco-leather product:

  • After exposure to rain, you should carefully remove excess moisture and hang the jacket or dress on sized hangers. If the bag gets wet, fill it with unnecessary, crumpled papers or thick terry towels and hang it up;
  • do not put flag clothes made of artificial material into the closet. This will provoke the appearance of mold and, as a result, thinning and deformation of the surface of the products;
  • products with the effect of moisturizing the surface of the material give good results; do not neglect ready-made complexes for the care of eco-leather;
  • direct sunlight is detrimental to such products; you should not leave a jacket or skirt on the balcony on a hot day;
  • if clothes made of leatherette are stored in a closet, you should definitely hang them up and make sure that the “neighbors” do not crush the sleeves or bottom of the product;
  • eco-leather does not tolerate sub-zero temperatures well, so a “link” to an open balcony for the winter will end in failure;
  • It is not recommended to dry even very wet trousers or leatherette jackets on a heating radiator; they can become deformed and crack from overheating.

In general, in terms of its qualities, artificial non-woven material perfectly imitates the qualities of natural leather. At the same time, it is much lighter, more flexible to various finishes and more environmentally friendly.
