You need to start sewing by processing the edges of the fabric; to do this, you will first have to remove the frayed edge, and then lay down 1-1.5 cm of the fabric and sew a straight stitch along the front side. It is necessary to do this as close to the edge as possible - 2-3 mm and make sure that the fabric folded on the wrong side does not change the width. At the end of each seam, bartacks are always made.
Using scissors, cut the folded edge close to the stitching.
Each side of the cut must be processed in this way in turn, otherwise chiffon will collect in the corners, which will be difficult to remove after stitching.
When all the material has been processed, you should fold the edges again by 0.3-1 cm and stitch along the front side. This method is called “Moscow seam” or “American”.
