When you choose trousers, the size is indicated there followed by a fraction - height. But in the case of me, for some reason this doesn’t work and I almost never look at the height on the label, it can be 5 centimeters more or less than my height, but the trousers/jeans suit me, I buy them.

The SML clothing size chart for men has a similar look. The principle for determining men's metric values is the same as for women's clothing:
- S – corresponds to the 46th;
- M – 48;
- L – means 50.
The size of men's clothing SML, unlike women's, includes such an indicator as neck circumference. It is important when choosing and purchasing dress shirts.
For those who find it easier to navigate the usual size chart, using tables they can easily convert European designations into women's Russian size SM L.
Sizing charts for children's clothing
The size of children's clothing by age, height, volume also differs depending on the country - different countries have their own line. In particular, the sizes of children's clothing up to one year in Europe, the USA and domestic stores do not categorically coincide, and this must be taken into account when buying new clothes for babies in order to choose the ideal wardrobe.

How to find out your clothing size
The first thing you need to do to choose the right clothing size is to find out the parameters of your own figure.
Arm yourself with a centimeter tailor's tape, which you probably have in your home. It is better if the tape is new, since the old stretched one can let you down.
- Take a relaxed position with your usual posture.
- For more accurate results, ask someone to help with measurements.
- Take measurements on underwear or thin, tight-fitting clothing.
- Make sure that the tape covers the body tightly enough, but does not pinch it.
- When measuring, try to keep the tape parallel to the floor.
- You will need to take three main measurements: chest, waist and hips: - chest girth is measured at the most protruding points of the mammary glands, the tape should run horizontally around the torso; - waist circumference is measured at its narrowest point; — hip circumference is measured along the most protruding part of the buttocks, taking into account the protrusion of the abdomen, the tape should run horizontally around the torso. The legs should be brought together.
- To find out your sleeve length, bend your arm slightly at the elbow and take a measurement from shoulder to wrist.
- The length of skirts and trousers is measured along the side line from the waist to the desired point.
So you know your parameters. How can you now understand what size clothing you should choose? It’s interesting that traditionally the size of women’s clothing in Russia is determined by the half-chest circumference in centimeters. That is, if the chest circumference is 96 cm, we divide this figure in half, we get 48 - this is the number that indicates your clothing size. Manufacturers produce a range of sizes in increments of 2: 44, 46, 48, 50, etc. What if your chest circumference is 94 cm? After all, if you take half the value, you get 47, and such a size does not exist. Here the recommendation is this: it is better to “round” the value up and choose size 48 - this way, most likely, the item will fit better and you will feel comfortable.
It is the “Russian size” that is most often found in stores. They indicate dress sizes, skirt sizes, coat sizes, jackets and down jackets, and sweater sizes.
If you decide to buy pants or a skirt, knowing your chest circumference may not be enough, especially if you have a non-standard figure. Check what size corresponds to your hips and waist - and choose the item with confidence.

Fullness of the foot
Fullness is the circumference of the foot at its widest toe (as shown in the figure). Digital numbering is used in Russian, American and European systems.
Many people prefer not to determine their foot fullness, because for most people it falls within the standard foot size in cm, and they usually adhere to the following standard values (American scale, the same as the English one):
B – narrow fullness of the foot, D – medium, standard fullness of the foot, E – slightly fuller than average fullness, EE – wide, full foot.
You can determine your foot fullness using a very simple formula:
W = 0.25 B – 0.15 C – A
Where:
W – desired fullness number, B – girth in bundles in mm, C – foot length in mm, A – constant coefficient determined from the table:
Shoe type | Size | Completeness | A |
Women's | 21–27,5 | 1–12 | 16 |
Men's | 24,5–30,5 | 1–12 | 17 |
Measure the circumference of the foot at the widest point of the toe and the length of the foot using a centimeter. After this, simple calculations are carried out using the formula. For example, you are a man, your foot length is 220 mm, girth 205 mm, we calculate: 205 × 0.25 = 51.25 minus 220 × 0.15 = 33 minus 17. Total 1.25. Therefore, your completeness according to the Russian system is 1.
Then, if you need leg fullness data in another country’s system, you can use the table we posted above. The American system for measuring the fullness of shoes is almost identical to the English one.
Men's T-shirt Size Chart
To avoid confusion with the size, measure your chest circumference before choosing a product. It is this parameter that affects the size of the T-shirt. Take the measurement correctly by placing the centimeter parallel to the floor at the highest points of the chest, passing it under the armpits and closing it on the back in the area of the shoulder blades. After the measurement, use the table, find your parameters and their correspondence to the domestic notation system.
Bust (cm) | Size designation |
86–89 | 44 |
90–93 | 46 |
94–97 | 48 |
98–101 | 50 |
102–105 | 52 |
106–109 | 54 |
110–113 | 56 |
114–117 | 58 |
118–121 | 60 |
122–125 | 62 |
126–129 | 64 |
130–133 | 66 |
134–137 | 68 |
138–141 | 70 |
It is not necessary to use a table to determine the size of the product. If you simply divide the measurements by 2, you will get the desired parameter.
If you have a fuller frame and your waist is larger than your chest, go with the highest number. For example, with OG equal to 124 cm and OT equal to 126 cm, size 64 is selected, not 62.
Smallest T-shirt size
A compact male physique, as well as a large one, is quite common. Or in case the T-shirt is chosen for a teenager. If your bust size does not reach 89 cm and your height does not exceed 170 cm, give preference to size 44 (XXS).
Largest T-shirt size
If a man has a large non-standard physique, then a T-shirt will need to match. If your height reaches 198 cm, and your chest circumference does not exceed 141 cm, choose a product in size 70 (5XL).
Glove sizing
Determining your glove size is not at all difficult - all you need is a regular measuring tape, colloquially called a “centimeter”. The size of gloves is determined by such a parameter as hand size. More precisely, the girth of the palm (see figure) - just measure its volume without the thumb, slightly tightening the tape, and then determine your size using the table we have given below. Please note that in this case it makes no difference whether we want to buy men's gloves or women's gloves.

What is the smallest clothing size?
Small sizes include sizes XS to M in the international clothing labeling system.
S – “smol” (small in English), M – “medium”, that is, medium. The smallest size is XS, which stands for “extrasmall” (super small - English). the letter X indicates maximum. Despite the fact that there may be one smallest size, according to the Russian size scale, this marker fits men's sizes 40-42 and women's 38-40. They may have a slight difference in volume, but they will fit differently on the same person. Therefore, in this case, you need to select clothes according to your body structure.
